EMPLOYMENT (EMPLOYMENT OF WOMEN) (FEMALECONDUCTORS) REGULATIONS1958* 1.Citation. These Regulations maybe cited as the Employment(EmploymentofWomen) (Female Conductors) Regulations1958. 2. Exemption from section 34. Any female employee employed under the Public Service Vehicles (Control of Drivers and Conductors) Regulations 1952, and licensed as a conductor of a public service vehicle, may work between the hours often o’clock in the evening and one o’clock in the morning of the following day notwithstanding the provisions of section 34 of the Employment Act 1955.
3. No work between one o’clock and fiveo’clock inthemorning. No female employee referred to in regulation 2 shall work between the hours of one o’clock and five o’clock in the morning.
4. Period of rest to be11hours. No female employee referred to in regulation 2 shall commence work without having had a period of eleven consecutive hours free from such work.
5. Offenceand penalty. Where a female employee is employed contrary to the provisions of any of these Regulations the employer of such employeeshall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding five hundred ringgit and in the case of a continuing offence an additional fine of fifty ringgit for each day during which the offence continues.
