1927年6月24日
根据长沙发生反革命政变（即马日事变），中共湖南党组织受到严重破坏的情况，中共中央任命毛泽东为湖南省委书记，去长沙组织新的湖南省委。毛泽东到湖南后指出：马日事变是上海事件的继续，随着而来的将有无数个马日事变在全国发生，对不能合作已经反动的国民党分子要严加处置。各县工农武装一律迅速集中，不要分散，要用武力来对付反动军队，以枪杆子对付枪杆子，不要再徘徊观望。
1945年6月24日
毛泽东为中共中央起草致湘鄂赣区党委、湖南人民抗日救国军军政委员会各同志的电报。电报提出南下部队应依据五岭山脉建立根据地，指出：（一）集中兵力在国民党统治地区和国民党优势兵力反复地多次地打大仗，不但在军事上是不利的，而且在政治上是不利的。（二）我军的战略方针是在日寇占领区域实行分散的游击战争，建立与扩大解放区，缩小沦陷区，建立与扩大军队、游击队与民兵，削弱敌军、伪军与联敌攻我之顽军。对于国民党军队不应该超过自卫立场。不应在干部与战士中灌输专门打顽军或主要打顽军的思想，而应向他们灌输主要打敌伪军，只在自卫立场上打顽军的思想，以提高他们在敌占区建立解放区的认识与情绪。（三）现在距日寇崩溃只应估计尚有一年半，时间很迫促，而在湘中衡阳、宝庆（今邵阳）、湘潭、醴陵地区建立解放区，在目前是可能的，在日寇崩溃后要继续存在、坚持，将是很困难的。那时有使我军处于极困难地位，甚至被迫北返之可能，而且不能和广东力量打成一片，违背着在南方一翼建立局面，以便在国民党发动内战时牵制国民党一翼的战略意图。这一方针和在延安时我们向你们所说在地区上是不同的。（四）准备一切条件，使我军在日寇崩溃、国民党发动内战时，能够依据五岭山脉坚持并发展，准备被切断，准备独立作战，唯一的直接的依靠是你们内部的团结，是你们自己的正确的军事政策与正确的团结人民的政策。如果你们在这些政策上犯了大错误，那便要接受失败的结果，这一点必须预计到，必须预计到最困难最危险最黑暗的种种可能情况，并从这点出发去克服困难，争取光明与胜利的局面。又指出：现在大局有利于我，只要党内能团结，不丧失时机，在政策上不犯大错误，我们相信你们是能够完成中央给你们的伟大任务的。
1946年6月24日
周恩来致电中共中央并转东北局、叶剑英。电报指出：谈判将临最后关头，我在停战、交通及美国职权上均做了某些让步，为揭穿蒋的整军方案的军事独裁思想，我方拟提出以政治军，军民分治，军需、军令、军训三权分立三原则。请中央批准我们在此相机行事，以便使谈判破裂做得愈于我们有利愈好。次日，中央复电：你可根据既定方针，便宜行事。
2019年6月24日
中共中央政治局就“牢记初心使命，推进自我革命”举行第十五次集体学习。习近平在主持学习时强调，我们党作为百年大党，如何永葆先进性和纯洁性、永葆青春活力，如何永远得到人民拥护和支持，如何实现长期执政，是我们必须回答好、解决好的一个根本性问题。我们党要求全党同志不忘初心、牢记使命，就是要提醒全党同志，党的初心和使命是党的性质宗旨、理想信念、奋斗目标的集中体现，越是长期执政，越不能忘记党的初心使命，越不能丧失自我革命精神，在新时代把党的自我革命推向深入，把党建设成为始终走在时代前列、人民衷心拥护、勇于自我革命、经得起各种风浪考验、朝气蓬勃的马克思主义执政党。
他强调，做到不忘初心、牢记使命，并不是一件容易的事情，必须有强烈的自我革命精神。今年是新中国成立70周年，我们党在全国执政也70年了。应该看到，在长期执政条件下，各种弱化党的先进性、损害党的纯洁性的因素无时不有，各种违背初心和使命、动摇党的根基的危险无处不在，“四大考验”、“四种危险”依然复杂严峻，如果不严加防范、及时整治，久而久之，必将积重难返，小问题就会变成大问题、小管涌就会沦为大塌方。党的自我革命任重而道远，决不能有停一停、歇一歇的想法。不忘初心、牢记使命要靠全党共同努力来实现，每一个党员、干部特别是领导干部必须常怀忧党之心、为党之责、强党之志，积极主动投身到这次主题教育中来。
他强调，牢记初心和使命，推进党的自我革命，要坚持加强党的集中统一领导和解决党内问题相统一，广大党员、干部特别是领导干部要敢于同一切弱化党的领导、动摇党的执政基础、违反党的政治纪律和政治规矩的行为作斗争，坚决克服党内存在的突出问题。要坚持守正和创新相统一，坚守党的性质宗旨、理想信念、初心使命不动摇，同时要以新的理念、思路、办法、手段解决好党内存在的各种矛盾和问题。要坚持严管和厚爱相统一，完善监督管理机制，捆住一些人乱作为的手脚，放开广大党员、干部担当作为、干事创业的手脚，把广大党员、干部的积极性、主动性、创造性充分激发出来，形成建功新时代、争创新业绩的浓厚氛围和生动局面。要坚持组织推动和个人主动相统一，既要靠各级党组织严格要求、严格教育、严格管理、严格监督，又要靠广大党员、干部自觉行动，主动检视自我，打扫身上的政治灰尘，不断增强政治免疫力。

1993年
6月24日 中共中央、国务院下发《关于当前经济情况和加强宏观调控的意见》。文件指出，我国经济在继续大步前进中，也出现了一些新的矛盾和问题，某些方面的情况还比较严峻。在解决问题时，要切实贯彻在经济工作中要抓住机遇，加快发展，同时要注意稳妥，避免损失，特别要避免大的损失的指导思想，把加快发展的注意力集中到深化改革、转换机制、优化结构、提高效益上来。文件提出了严格控制货币发行，稳定金融形势等十六条加强和改善宏观调控的措施。
1998年
6月24日 中共中央发出《关于在全党深入学习邓小平理论的通知》。《通知》就如何把全党的理论学习提高到新水平，坚持以领导干部为重点带动全党的学习，加强对邓小平理论的研究和宣传，改进学风，加强对理论学习的领导等方面，提出了新的要求。
